This is a large and unusual well carved statue under a canopy . Saint Germaine is usually depicted with flowers and lambs. Here she is shown with her full disability of a deformed and paralysed right hand . She suffered this from birth as well as the disease scrofula. She died aged 22 in 1601 She is the patron saint of abused , disabled and abandoned children. This piece was not made for the tourist market. Please look at the photographs or ask us any questions.
